　　The Tokyo Olympic Games has been rescheduled to July 23 to August 8, 2021, the Tokyo organizing committee announced on March 30th, 2020. The Paralympic Games will be held from August 24 to Sept 5, 2021. The IOC also announced the date in a statement on its official website, saying it is a decision jointly made by the IOC, the IPC, the Tokyo organizing committee and the Tokyo Metropolitan government and the government of Japan after talks via telephone conference. The Olympics will still be called Tokyo 2020 despite taking place in 2021.

　　夏季奧運會是世界上規模最大的體育賽事(the biggest sporting event in the world)，每四年舉辦一屆，有來自世界各地的一萬多名運動員參加。夏季或冬季奧運會被推遲或取消的情況極為罕見(it's extremely rare for the Summer or Winter Olympics to be postponed or canceled)。自1896年現代奧運會開始以來，這種情況只發生過6次，而且通常發生在戰爭時期。此次是奧運會124年的歷史中這一賽事首次在和平時期被推遲(the first time in the Olympics' 124-year history that they had been postponed during peacetime.
