close與closely用法辨析

close與closely用法辨析

在英語中close與 closely十分容易殽雜，要想弄清晰這兩個形近詞的用法，我們無礙從詞性動手，逐一來區分它們詞法的不同之處。

一、close

作形貌詞時，涵義是“（在空間、時間上）接近的，接近的，親密的，精密的，才能相差無幾的，嚴加警備的;悶熱的;鄙吝的;閉塞音的”

The two trees are close together.這兩棵樹挨著很近。

We all have to work in close proximity.

我們都不得不緊挨在一同事情。

Her lips were close to his head and her breath tickled his ear.

作副詞時，涵義是“接近，嚴密地”

作動詞時，涵義是“關，關閉，閉上”

Would you mind my closing the window.我關閉窗戶你介懷嗎？

二、closely

作副詞時，涵義是“嚴密地，親密地,仔細腸”表達的是一種籠統的意義，常常修飾分詞形貌詞和動詞。

The two events are closely connected.這兩件事變有親密的接洽。

They watched the enemy closely.他們親密地凝視著仇人的意向。

They crowded more closely around the stretcher...

他們在擔架旁圍得更緊了。

Wherever they went they were closely followed by security men.

不管上哪兒，保安職員都緊跟在他們死后。

He was observed to follow her closely.

有人看到他緊隨著她。

She was following Laura's progress closely.

她親密眷注著勞拉的歷程。

The French and British are co-operating more closely than they have for years.

法國和英國如今的互助比歷年愈加親密。

We work closely with the careers officers in schools.

三、close與 closely的區別

這兩個詞都可以作副詞，但是它們的詞法用處完全不同，close 表現接近，接近的涵義，是指很具體意義外表的近，也就是側重于距離的近。

而closely愈加側重于籠統意義外表的“近”。常常修飾分詞、形貌詞和動詞。

1.At the meeting ，they sat very close and had a close talk ，but I didn't know what they were talking about.

議會時他們坐得很近并舉行了親密扳談，但是我不曉得他們在談什么。

2.The little boy sat close to his father and listened closely with great interest.

小男孩緊靠著他的父親坐著，饒有興致地仔細聽著。

特別是同為副詞時，一定要區分好具體和籠統，另有要注意他們各自所修飾的詞性，尤其要記取closely尋常修飾的是分詞形貌詞和動詞。
