sun, earth, moon, world, universe, solar system等唯一無二的名詞前用定冠詞表現獨指,這些名詞前有定語時用不定冠詞表現某種屬性或一時特征:

Which is the biggest, the sun, the earth or the moon? 太陽、地球和玉輪哪一個最大?

The universe is composed of matter. 宇宙是由物質構成的。

A full moon is hanging in the sky. 一輪滿月掛在天空。

A big red sun is rising. 一輪大大的紅太陽正在升起。

sun(太陽), earth(地球), moon(月球)的首字母可以大寫也可以小寫;sun(太陽), moon(月球)和Sun(太陽), Moon(月球)無論大寫照舊小寫都必需有定冠詞the;earth(地球)小寫前必需有定冠詞the,Earth(地球)大寫前可以有定冠詞the也可以沒有:

The earth circles the sun. The moon circles the earth. ? The Earth circles the Sun. The Moon circles the Earth. ? Earth circles the Sun. The Moon circles Earth. 地球繞著太陽轉,月球繞著地球轉。

③ sun表現“太陽”時用定冠詞,表現“陽光”時多用定冠詞;in the sun表現“在陽光下”:

The sun is out. 太陽出來了。

The sun is shining. 紅日高照。

You should shade out the sun. 你應該遮住陽光。

There isn’t much sun today. 今天陽光不強。

Don’t read in the sun. 不要在陽光下看書。

④ earth表現“地球”時用定冠詞,表現“地表,大地”時可用定冠詞也可不必,表現“土壤”時尋常不必冠詞:

The earth rotates once every 24 hours. 地球每24小時自轉一周。

The rocket fell to (the) earth. 火箭墜落在地上。

Please fill the hole with earth. 請用土壤填滿這個坑。

⑤ moon表現“玉輪”時用定冠詞,表現“月光”時多用定冠詞;in the moon表現“在月光下”:

The moon waxes and wanes. 月有圓缺。

The moon cast a shadow on the wall. 月光在墻上投影子。

There is little moon tonight. 今晚沒有什么月光。

We are sitting in the moon. 我們坐在月光下。

冠詞是英語中十分緊張、意義顏色十分繁復的詞,它的使用率很高,是英語中最常用的詞。

傳統語法將冠詞分為不定冠詞和定冠詞兩類,古代英語將冠詞分為不定冠詞、定冠詞和零冠詞三類。

冠詞是一種本身不克不及獨立使用的虛詞,尋常放在名詞前方,協助分析這個名詞的涵義。

英語有很多容易殽雜的詞語。在英漢辭書中有很多漢語釋義相同或相近的英語詞匯,在很多情況下,由于語境、搭配、句型布局等不同,它們之間有的存在渺小差別,有的存在很大不同;有些詞義相反或相近的詞匯在某些情況下可換用,但在另一些情況下卻不克不及換用;這在很多同義詞、近義詞中都有相似情況,很容易誤用和錯用。在英語詞匯中,有些單詞容顏十分相似,但詞義卻不同,很容易張冠李戴。假如不了解同義詞、近義詞、近形詞等易混詞語的區別,尤其是這類詞之間的渺小差別和習氣用法,就把握不到標準、隧道的英語,在交際和寫作中常令人匪夷所思,乃至鬧出笑話,因此,熟習和把握易混詞語的區別和用法好壞常緊張的。

為此,我學習和研討英語易混詞20多年,辨析了560組常用的或疑問的易混詞,Word排版,大32開,1128頁,80萬字,150萬字符。為了與網友分享,又編纂了手機版。

以易混詞語組為主干,列出一組易混詞語,分析這組易混詞語的共性和區別,逐詞闡釋詞義及用法,并配有例句及漢語譯文,以便體系地把握一組易混詞語的協同點和區別。每組詞的表明和分析力圖簡明簡明、普通易懂,且又盡力細致;針對表明和分析,選擇例句標準、隧道、實用,具有年代特征,容易學習模仿,積極做到條理清晰、主次明白,使人見樹又見林,知其然更能知其以是然。

例句觸及天文地域、天然封建、人文封建,學習英語易混詞的同時,增長多方面的知識,有些例句包含人生哲理,催人奮進。
